Abstract
From late 1999 through 2003, the State of Texas experienced an extensive increase of mold claims. In Texas, the major focus of the mold claims were directed at homeowners’ insurance policies. The State of Texas for many years used a standard homeowners insurance form that was subject to challenge in the courts. Also, regulatory agencies reviewed the form for foundation, slab, water damage, plumbing and mold issues.
